Welcome to the first step in your SolidMeta Forge journey. This Getting Started guide is crafted to facilitate a smooth introduction to the software, ensuring you’re up to speed and fully operational with minimal delay.

Minimum Technical Requirements: #

Please review the following system requirements to ensure optimal performance with SolidMeta Forge:

Operating System:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • Windows 10 (64-bit)

Software:

  • Latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla® Firefox®
  • Houdini Core 19.5.403

Memory:

  • 12 GB required
  • 64 GB is strongly recommended

Processor:

  • Intel or AMD x64 with SSE 4.2 required

Disk Space:

  • 5 GB required for installation

Input Devices:

  • 3-button mouse mandatory
  • Scroll wheel utilized if available
  • Wacom tablet recommended for painting

Graphics Cards:

  • Must be GL4.0 compliant; GL3.3 cards have limited features
  • 4 GB VRAM minimum; necessary to prevent display errors
  • Must support OpenCL 1.2
  • Ensure to install the latest proprietary drivers from the card manufacturer

Driver Requirements:

  • NVIDIA RTX & GeForce GPUs: 511.09 Studio Driver or higher
  • AMD: Driver version 22.Q3 or higher
  • Intel: Driver version 30.0.100.9955 or higher

Monitors:

  • Minimum resolution 1920 x 1080
  • Recommended resolution of 3840×2160 (UHD)
  • Dual displays or single displays above 1920×1200 require at least 4 GB VRAM
  • 32-bit color depth (“true color”) required
  • Color profile sRGB recommended or calibrated to gamma 2.2

For best workflow, dual monitors are recommended, allowing for a dedicated 3D Viewport on one and the Forge interface on the other. There is no preference for a specific computer manufacturer; any system meeting the above specifications should be compatible with SolidMeta Forge.
