Combining Volkswagen’s automotive expertise, NVIDIA’s Omniverse for real-time rendering, Credera’s AI delivery skills, and Unevis’s AI optimization technology via SolidMeta, SonicAI automates polygon reduction, part combination, and material mapping. A real-world pilot test showed Volkswagen reducing production costs by 40% and cutting integration time from 8-10 weeks to 15 days. Compatible with Unreal Engine and NVIDIA Omniverse, SonicAI enhances Volkswagen’s workflows and supports industries like gaming and aviation. The team shared insights into the collaboration at NVIDIA’s GTC 2025.

Mediaman Leverages SolidMeta for Mercedes-Benz China’s Holographic Display
For Mercedes-Benz China’s holographic CLE Coupe display, we leveraged an early version of SolidMeta’s AI-powered polygon reduction technology. This reduced over 15 million polygons to under 1 million while preserving the car’s refined contours and intricate details—crucial for delivering a high-quality holographic experience. The display is remotely controlled via the WeChat Mini Program, ensuring seamless interaction.
Unlike traditional methods that struggle with normal alignment and potential damage, SolidMeta intelligently adjusts normals and safeguards critical areas. This technology significantly reduced our manual editing efforts while maintaining exceptional visual fidelity.

Between 2020 and 2023, Effekt-Etage and SolidMeta partnered on a series of innovative projects for Volkswagen, focusing on optimizing the efficiency of Volkswagen’s CAD data processes. The collaboration resulted in a suite of WebGL-based streaming solutions and explainer videos, initially created in Cinema4D and later transitioned to Unreal Engine for enhanced real-time rendering capabilities.
